BENGHAZI, Libya, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) — Libyan rebels said on Sunday they had made breakthroughs in the west front in the towns of Meselata and Zliten, where seven rebels were killed during battles on Tuesday.
The rebels have fully controlled Meselata, a town southwest of Tripoli, and that “Zliten will never return to the hand of Gaddafi, “ Colonel Ahmed Omar Bani, a military spokesman based in the rebel stronghold of Benghazi, said at a press conference.
