Libya’s killed ex-leader Muammar Gaddafi and South African mercenaries, who were helping him to escape, had been lured into a trap, Johannesburg’s City Press newspaper writes citing an intelligence source.

“The Colonel though he was going to live in a tent in the Karoo (a South African desert) but the mercenaries were probably also misled into thinking they were helping Gaddafi”, the paper writes.

The mercenaries were recruited by a security agency in August to assist in moving Gaddafi out of his hometown of Sirte and bring him to South Africa. However their car convoy had been stricken by NATO and NTC rebels captured and executed the Colonel.

The intelligence source believes that the security agency had NTC agents on its staff to lure the Colonel out of Sirte.

The fight for leadership in Libya begins – expert

The fight for leadership in Libya begins.

We will not be surprised that these forces will fight each other very severely.

There would be maybe even military operations against each other.

And that’s why the Moderate Opposition Council is trying to delay the final stage of the battle and gain some strength by getting Western help, Western money.

Western countries would prefer the liberal more or less secular orientation of the future government.

But already there is a statement by Jalil that Libya will be governed by Sharia laws, which is absolutely contrary to what Western countries want.

Now we see the unraveling of this unscrupulous policy of Western countries to make deals even with the forces they really fight with in different other areas, I mean, religious extremists and even terrorists.

Mass grave of more 50 people found in Sirte

A mass grave with the bodies of more 50 people have been found in Sirte, the native town of the overthrown and killed Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Experts found traces of violent death on the bodies.

Presumably the killed people were the supporters of Gaddafi.  There are children and women among them.

Earlier workers of human right organizations found a mass grave with 247 bodies in one of the hotel in Sirte.

One of the main versions is the massacre of the supporters of Gaddafi by the forces of the new power.
