Tanks and troops on Syrian streets are to protect people from terror threats the country’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Jihad Makdissi told reporters on Monday.
He claimed that the troops are not attacking civilians.
The diplomat also noted that the government allowed entry for almost all foreign media and wants them to be professional and objective.
On Sunday, the Arab League decided to expand its mission in the country up to 300 observers.
