Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has called “ridiculous” U.S. demands to limit contacts with Iran. He said this on Sunday, speaking on “Hello President,” a program mandatorily broadcast on all TV and radio stations of the South American country.

“Arriving today on a visit to Venezuela is Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Meanwhile, representatives of Washington, the State Department and White House make statements to the effect that its undesirable for any country to draw closer to Iran,” – said Chavez.

Addressing the U.S. president, the leader of the Bolivarian revolution said:

“Obama, deal with the pressing problems of your own country, there are so many of them.”
