In Libya, NATO acted in breach of international law – official
NATO’s arbitrary interpretation of the UN Security Council Libya resolution proved conducive to innumerable international law violations in the North African country, the Russian Ambassador to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, has told a Security Council meeting.
According to the diplomat, the supremacy of law in Libya could only be restored through an unbiased inquiry into moves by all parties to the conflict.
It is not only individuals that should be tried on criminal charges, but some countries should also be punished, the diplomat said. Earlier, Moscow suggested launching an investigation jointly with the United Nations and the NATO Command.
The suggestion was supported by the BRICS countries and some other Security Council members.
