Syria’s FM in Moscow
Syria’s Foreign Minister Walid Muallem has arrived in Moscow to meet with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on April 10. Muallem will tell him about the steps Syria is taking to implement the peace plan put forward by the UN envoy Kofi Annan.
April 10 is the deadline for the withdrawal of troops by Syria’s government. After that date, the parties to the conflict have two days to stop the violence.
Moscow is actively cooperating with Damascus to ensure that the conflict is settled as soon as possible.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry believes that a dialogue is only possible if both conflicting parties comply with Annan’s peace plan.
