EU OKs new sanctions against Syria
Monday, April 23, 2012
The EU has slapped the 14th round of sanctions on Syria, Russia’s ITAR-TASS news agency reported on Monday, adding that a decision to this effect was made during the EU’s ministerial meeting in Luxembourg earlier in the day.
The sanctions stipulate banning luxury good exports, as well as expanding the black list of dual-use goods which can be used for internal repression in Syria.
Russia insists that slapping unilateral sanctions on Syria is out of line with international norms.
