France – Sarkozy’s rating goes up

The rating of the incumbent French president Nicolas Sarkozy who is running for re-election has gained 2 points. According to polls, 46% would vote for him at the May 6 second round.
Sarkozy’s rival Socialist François Hollande has been supported by 54% of the respondents .
On May 2, the candidates will have a 2,5 –hour live debates that are expected to be watched by some 20 mln people.
They will speak about a number of burning issues, including economy, unemployment, the public debt, immigration, education and foreign policy.
