Egypt – Morsi quits Brotherhood

Acting on one of his campaign pledges, Egypt’s President Elect Mohamed Morsi has quit the Moslem Brotherhood and its political wing, known as the Freedom and Justice Party.
His other campaign pledges included a clampdown on corruption and the introduction of Sharia law.
The Egyptian President is elected for four years and cannot serve more than two consecutive terms.
