Tokyo conference to decide on Afghanistan aid

The Tokyo Conference on Afghanistan will decide whether it will provide the country with 16-bln dollar aid until 2015, Japan’s Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba stated ahead of the event.
According to him, Japan being one of Afghanistan’s major international donors will give the country $3 bln in the next 5 years while 1 bln will go to its neighbors also affected by the conflict.
The US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is expected to visit Afghanistan ahead of the conference.
