Annan, Assad make a deal

UN special envoy Kofi Annan said he had agreed on a ceasefire with the Syrian President Bashar Assad, after meeting him in Damascus Monday. Annan’s next stop is Tehran.

Annan said that the talks were constructive and frank and pledged to inform the opposition on new ceasefire terms and conditions.
Earlier Annan told Le Monde that Syrian efforts are failing and Iran and Russia should better join the conflict resolution.
