Japan – Nagasaki observes 67th A-bomb anniversary

The city of Nagasaki is observing the 67th anniversary of the US atomic bombing on Thursday.

The peace memorial ceremony is taking place shortly at the Peace Park near Ground Zero.

Monday marks the 67th anniversary of the US atomic bombing of Hiroshima. A memorial ceremony will begin at the city’s Peace Park at 8 AM with Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda attending.

The updated list of the names of 280,959 victims will be placed at the cenotaph. It will include the names of 5,729 people who died in the past year, or whose deaths have been confirmed.
