The Arab League’s calls for peace without external interference in the Middle East and North Africa are crucial and topical, Russia’s Foreign Ministry stated on Friday. Key issues on the Arab League summit’s agenda were joint efforts by the Arab countries to prevent violence and bloodshed in the region. The League touched upon the situations in Syria, Libya and other countries undergoing democratic reforms.

Cairo – Arab League calls for Syria help

The Arab League is pinning its Syria hopes on the mission of international Syria envoy Kofi Annan.

Speaking in Cairo Saturday, AL Secretary General Nabil al-Araby also urged the family of nations to rush emergency help to Syria, which he said should include plentiful medical supplies.
