Libyan Foreign Minister Musa Kusa says Libya will immediately stop all military operations and accept a ceasefire with the anti-government forces.

Kusa made the remarks at a news conference in the capital Tripoli on Friday after the UN Security Council adopted a resolution to impose a no-fly zone over Libya allowing military action to protect civilians from attacks by government forces led by Muammar al-Qadhafi.

The foreign minister criticized the moves of the United States and European countries in preparing military action based on the UN Security Council resolution.

He said the resolution violates Libya’s sovereignty, and will have a negative effect on people’s livelihoods.
