A tropical storm has hit northeastern Philippines, killing three people and forcing over 100,000 others to leave their homes because of landslides and floods.

According to the Associated Press news agency, the cyclone is now sweeping across that country’s Catanduanes province, accompanied by winds reaching 85 km per hour. A number of towns are suffering from electricity disruptions.
