Gennady Yevstafyev, Lieutenant-General, PIR Center Senior Advisor:

Complex Strela is widely spread around the world, but there is certain agreement between the major countries that they would try to limit the spread of this kind of weapon, mainly because of the fact that they are used in terrorist acts.

For broad Middle East it is extremely dangerous, especially when it comes to the fact that this kind of weapons is required by al-Qaeda people. This is a very bad signal.

Many people for quite some time are trying to bring the attention of European political leaders that the so-called insurgence of those people who are engaged in internal turmoil in the Arab countries, to a certain extent they are invaded by hidden followers of extremist movements and extremist parties, and al-Qaeda is among them, and if al-Qaeda people are going to put their hands on this kind of dangerous weapons, then we should expect numerous attempts on the allies of political leaders, on sensitive facilities, and so on.
