Heavy rains and floods have caused dozens of deaths across inland China.

Heavy rain has been falling in the provinces of Shaanxi, Henan and Sichuan since the start of September.
The worst downpours have been in Shaanxi and Henan, which have been plagued by floods and mudslides.

A landslide buried a factory and an office building in Xi’an in Shaanxi province on Saturday, killing 27 people.

In Chongqing, Sichuan province, the Jialingjiang river has flooded, submerging houses and inundating farmlands.

The civil affairs ministry says 90 people have died and 22 people are missing.

Weather officials say the torrential rain is expected to gradually ease, but cool weather caused by rain and lack of sunshine is now threatening autumn harvests.
