Russia has no claims to being a superpower or the world’s gendarme, but it will let no one breach its national interests, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin stated during a Q & A session with the heads of Russia’s three state channels. He noted that the government’s main goal is to provide for the country’s development and public

welfare.

Putin also stated that Russia is never to become a satellite state and will avoid this by building up its own stable political system which is to be modern, flexible and up to date, however resting upon national traditions.

The Prime Minister said that a political system can be stable only if people feel that their opinion matters in forming state institutions and their policies.
