The United States has agreed with Russia and China to ensure that Iran follows international obligations regarding its nuclear program.

A senior White House official said on Saturday that US President Barack Obama met separately with Chinese President Hu Jintao and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in Hawaii on the sidelines of the APEC summit.

In these meetings, the leaders agreed to ask Iran to meet its international nuclear obligations but there was no agreement in how to reach that goal — including imposing new UN Security Council sanctions on Iran.

The US is expected to ask the 2 countries to cooperate through diplomatic channels to get Iran to comply with international rules.

Israel says that Iran’s lack of cooperation on the nuclear issue indicates that the country is developing nuclear weapons.

Some observers say that there is a possibility that Israel may attack Iran’s nuclear facilities.

In October the International Atomic Energy Agency said Iran is continuing its uranium enrichment program in defiance of international obligations.
