Libya:Gaddafi son needs surgery
Laaska news Nov. 27,2011
Muammar Gaddafi’s son Saif al-Islam needs surgery to remove gangrenous flesh from his fingers. If not treated, this condition could make him seriously ill, a doctor who examined him said on Thursday.
Two fingers on Saif al-Islam’s right hand require amputation urgently, Andrei Murakhovsky, a Ukrainian-born doctor working in Zintan, said.
The doctor says that Gaddafi’s son could have sustained this kind of injury during a blast.
Fighters from Libya’s Western Mountains captured Saif al-Islam in the southern desert on Saturday and flew him to their stronghold town of Zintan, where he is being held pending a handover to the country’s provisional government.
Rebel forces in Zintan fear that Saif al-Islam will be killed if taken to hospital.
