Severe earthquake hits south of Siberia

A severe earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 points has occurred in the south-eastern part of Russia on the Mongolian border, Reuters reports with reference to the US Geological Survey.

The epicentre of the earthquake is located 92km north-east of the city of Kyzyl (Republic of Tuva) and the source lies at a depth of 45km.

The tremors could be felt in Krasnoyarsk city (East Siberia).
