Egypt:Mubarak’s case split into separate proceedings on protest violence and corruption

A Cairo court has split the presentation of the case in the trial of Egypt’s former President Hosni Mubarak into separate proceedings on charges of killing protesters and corruption.

The trial of Mubarak, his two sons Alaa and Gamal and former top Interior Ministry officers resumed on Tuesday.

About 850 people were killed and thousands were injured during a crackdown on mass anti-government protests in Egypt last January.
