Deputy Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin has urged the West to investigate human rights abuses in Libya.

He told a news conference in Brussels following his departure as Russia’s Ambassador to NATO that it is quite important for the international community to support Russia’s calls for investigation of human rights abuses in Libya.

He said he found it difficult to understand how the West’s calls for the need to protect human rights could go hand in hand with the raptures about the murder of the former Libyan leader.

Muammar Gaddafi, who ruled Libya for 42 years, was assassinated when trying to flee his home city of Sirte on October 20th last year.

The images of the dead Colonel have been screened by all of the world’s international TV channels.
