Egypt has joined Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in complying with the Arab League’s Cairo resolution to recall Ambassadors from Syria.

Syria withdrew its Ambassador from Cairo earlier on Sunday two days after an angry demonstration outside its Embassy compound in the Egyptian capital took place. The demonstrators reiterated accusations made by the Egyptian government which claimed that the Syrian authorities were using military force against civilians.

Moscow reacts to UN report on Syria

.

UN Secretary General should send a group of experts to Syria to carry out unbiased assessment of the country’s humanitarian situation, Russia`s deputy foreign minister Gennady Gatilov wrote on Twitter.

His post comes after United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navy Pillay said that the scale of government’s crackdown indicates that crimes against humanity have occurred in Syria.

Russia`s human rights envoy to the UN, Konstantin Dolgov, earlier said that sources used by Pillay in her report offer a one-sided approach to the situation in Syria.
