Wednesday, March 14, 2012

Former Egyptian ministers and businessmen close to the government of Hosni Mubarak have appealed to the new authorities of the country to conclude a settlement agreement and have stated that they are ready to return to the state all property and funds, which, according to the charges were earned by illegal means.

The politicians and businessmen have asked for immunity from criminal liability. However the current government of Egypt has not yet decided whether to make a deal with.

After the fall of the Mubarak regime dozens of criminal cases against senior officials accused of corruption were initiated.

The ex-leader and his two sons are also in custody pending sentencing.
