The leader of a military coup in Mali has signaled his readiness to sit down for peace parleys with Tuareg rebels.

In a TV address on Tuesday, Captain Amadou Sanogo stressed that the new Malian authorities are ready to deal with any issues except those related to territorial spats.

On March 22, soldiers ousted President Amadou Toure and announced consultations on the creation of a national unity government in Mali.
