Whipping up tension around Iran dangerous – Lavrov

Russia believes that attempts at whipping up tensions around the Iranian nuclear programme and finding a pretext for further sanctions against Tehran are dangerous, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday at a meeting with the chairman of the Israeli National Security Council Yaakov Amidror who is on a working visit in Moscow.
Lavrov has confirmed that Moscow finds the prospect of Tehran acquiring nuclear weapons unacceptable. At the same time, the Russian Foreign Minister stressed that any attempts at whipping up tensions around the Iranian nuclear programme and especially using force was counterproductive and dangerous, the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
