Wednesday, May 9, 2012

Republican Mitt Romney secured expected victories in the Republican presidential primaries in Indiana, North Carolina and West Virginia on Tuesday.

Romney de facto became leader in the Republican race on April 10th, when his main rival Rick Santorum pulled out of the race.

The Republican candidate will be officially nominated at the party’s national convention in Tampa in August.

Romney’s contender in the presidential race will be incumbent President Barack Obama.

At present, Obama leads 47% to 45% over Romney, with a percentage difference between the two candidates narrowing by 4.5 times over the past month.
