Syrian Crisis – “Human rights in Syria violated by both sides” – Russia’s Deputy FM
Aug 2, 2012
Russia’s deputy foreign minister Gennady Gatilov believes that human rights are violated by both sides in the Syrian conflict and this is something Western and Arab politicians should realize full well.
Gatilov’s comments came shorty after video footage of rebels executing supporters of Syrian president Bashar Assad appeared on the Internet.
“The situation in Aleppo is really critical and biased media are obviously trying to make up for what the opposition has failed to achieve,” Gatilov wrote in his Twitter account on Wedesday.
“The sight of the atrocitiy committed by the rebels in Aleppo proves beyond any reasonable doubt that human rights are violated by both sides in the conflct and Western and Arab politicians are best advised to look at the situation in Syria from this angle. The violence there must be stopped by all conflicting sides,” the diplomat wrote.
