Syria’s government troops have entered the center of Aleppo, the country’s largest city and commercial hub.
They are now conducting a clean-up operation which can take a couple of days due to the city’s dense and tangled architecture.
According to the media, locals welcome the troops and thank them for liberation from the militants.
The troops assisted by aviation are also fighting against the insurgents in the city’s south-east and western districts.
Assad’s force has also regained control of the Salaheddine neighborhood of Aleppo.
