Iran – Nearly 300 die in Iran quake

Local Iranian officials say the death toll from Saturday’s earthquakes will rise to nearly 300 people.
Iranian government officials are shifting from rescue operations to rebuilding in the disaster-affected areas.
The magnitude 6.4 and 6.3 earthquakes hit the northwestern province of East Azerbaijan. 20 villages were devastated in the mountainous area near the focus, with many of the buildings destroyed. Read more…
Iran – At least 180 killed in Iranian quake

Indonesia’s Geophysical Agency has registered a 6.5 aftershock following an earlier 8.6 magnitude quake in Aceh region off the coast of northern Sumatra. A tsunami warning has been issued across the Indian Ocean, the US Geological Survey reports. Read more…
