Tokyo Electric Power Company has reported a radioactive water leak at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant’s Number 4 reactor.

The utility says a worker patrolling on Tuesday morning found water one-centimeter deep across a 350-square-meter room on the first floor of the turbine building. Read more…

Local Iranian officials say the death toll from Saturday’s earthquakes will rise to nearly 300 people.

Iranian government officials are shifting from rescue operations to rebuilding in the disaster-affected areas.

The magnitude 6.4 and 6.3 earthquakes hit the northwestern province of East Azerbaijan. 20 villages were devastated in the mountainous area near the focus, with many of the buildings destroyed. Read more…

An overcrowded bus has plunged into a gorge in India killing more than 50 people.

The bus was carrying about 100 people. It fell 100 meters into a gorge in the mountainous state of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday.
