Fighters for the Libyan National Transitional Council (NTC) have seized the airport and the Libyan city of Sabha. This information was reported on Monday by Ahmed Bani, a spokesman for the armed forces.

He denied reports that supporters of Muammar Gaddafi had captured 17 foreign “mercenaries” among them British and French nationals in the town of Beni Walid.

The city of Beni Walid, Sirte and Sabha remains settlements that are still not under the control of the NTC.

According to some reports, the defense of Beni Walid is being commanded by Gaddafi’s son Seif al-Islam. There also reports that other sons of Gaddaffi may be in the city, including Colonel Saadi and Mutasim.
