War in Libya:NTC forces take Sirte airport

Forces loyal to Libya’s rebel National Transitional Council have taken the airport in Muammar Gaddafi’s hometown of Sirte, the BBC reported on Thursday.

It quoted rebels as saying that they also detained Gaddafi’s press secretary Moussa Ibrahim, who unsuccessfully tried to flee Sire earlier in the day and who has already been transported to the city of Misrata to face an interrogation.

Colonel Gaddafi’s current whereabouts are still unknown.
