Four Italian journalists kidnapped in Libya are being held by supporters of Muammar Gaddafi.

They are all well, but it’s still not known exactly where they are being held. The journalists were captured near the town of Az-Zawiyah west of Tripoli, the scene of fighting between rebels and Gaddafi troops.

Their car was attacked by an armed gang. At the end of the day one of the reporters was able to call his office and inform of what had happened.

There is no information regarding the demands of the kidnappers. The captured journalists work for the Italian newspapers “Corriere della Sera”, “La Stampa” and “Avvenire.”
