Western intervention in Iran would trigger war and chaos both in the region and beyond, France’s president Nicolas Sarkozy stated during his meeting with French diplomats.
He pledged to do his best to avoid a military conflict and urged tougher sanctions against Iran to punish the country for its nuclear program.
According to the IAEA, Iran has produced 20-percent enriched uranium and successfully tested new missiles. Iran threatens to close the Hormuz Strait oil route if the EU refuses to buy its oil.
